platform games

Nintendo's platform game Super Mario Brothers, released for the Nintendo Entertainment System in 1985, became the archetype for many platformers to follow. The title was bundled with Nintendo's systems in North America, Japan, and Europe, and went on to sell over 40 million copies according to the 1999 Guinness Book of World Records. Sonic the hedgehog featured large fields that scrolled effortlessly in all directions, as well as all manner of uneven terrain and in my opinion this is a better game than mario. Donkey Kong, an arcade game created by Nintendo, released in July 1981, was the first game that allowed players to jump over obstacles and across gaps, making it the first true platformer. Space Panic, a 1980 arcade release, is sometimes credited as the first platform game, but the distinction is contentious, since the player had no ability to jump, swing, or bounce, or fall, and as such, does not satisfy most modern definitions of the genre. However, it was clearly an influence on the genre.Prince of Persia is a platform game, originally developed by Jordan Mechner and released October 3, 1989 for the Apple II, that represented a great leap forward in the quality of animation seen in computer games.

scrolling

Creating this game I had alot of fun because it was alot easier because of the fact that i already knew wat I was doing. It was also difficult because I tried to put more into my game than everyone else because that wasn't enough for me to be satisfied. I had trouble finding all of the things that I needed for everything to work correctly and I got frustrated a little bit. I tried to go for having the best game out of all classes so thats ehy it took me a little bit longer than everyone else in the class and hopefully my game is the best. Overall my experience making this game was fun and I learned alot.

One of the most popular games ever is "Galaga" and the objective is to score as many points as possible by destroyinginsect like enemies it was developed and published by Namco in Japan in 1981. another popular game is "Rive Raid"You swerve left and right, shooting down choppers, balloons, and tankers. Another one is "DoDon Pachi" it is a manic bullet-fest for which only the hardest of the hardcore need apply. Released in Japanese arcades in 1997.

There's also "Lightning Force", this Genesis blaster let you choose the order in which you attacked the missions. The last one is "M.U.S.H.A." You pilot a mech through several stages of intense, fast-paced assaults collecting P-chips that change the properties of your robot. maze game

In this game I decided to go with the grim reaper because it is really cool. It was very difficult because I tried to put extra stuf in my game that other people didn't have. The hardest part to making my game is getting all of the sprites to do what they are supposed to and avoid glitches in the game but once I got all of that done it was smooth sailing from there. The sound was also a difficult thing to find because I tried to get sounds that went with my game perfectly. But overall it was a fun experience creating the game because I learned alot in the process.

welcome to my blog

My name is JT and when creating games I hope to learn the different schemes and designs that making a game involves. I also hope to learn the techniques that you need to use to create a great game. I want to be able to create a good game when I want to and I want it to be very easy for me to do. when I come out of this class I want to be a great game designer. When I see the famous games such as grand theft auto or games like that I always find little things in the game that could be improved on because I want to be the one to improve them. That is what I hope to get out of game design.
